Tour Overview

This 5-day Primate Tracking Safari takes you to Uganda’s top wildlife destinations for unforgettable encounters with chimpanzees and mountain gorillas. The journey begins in Entebbe and continues to Kibale National Park for chimpanzee tracking and a cultural community experience. You then explore Queen Elizabeth National Park with a game drive and a boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel. The highlight of the trip is gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, followed by relaxing at the scenic Lake Bunyonyi. The tour ends with a comfortable return to Entebbe. This itinerary is ideal for travelers looking for a short yet immersive primate and wildlife adventure in Uganda.

Cost Includes

  • Pick-up and drop-off service to and from the airport (using our vehicle)
  • All ground transportation throughout the trip

  • Provision of a down jacket, four-season sleeping bag, duffel bag and trekking map (if needed; items must be returned after the trip)
  • First Aid Medical Kit (your guide will carry one, but you are encouraged to bring a personal kit if possible)
  • All necessary permits and required documentation

Tour Plan

Day 1 : Entebbe → Kibale National Park & Evening Community Experience

Your safari begins with a morning pickup from Entebbe International Airport or your hotel. After meeting your guide, start the scenic drive to Kibale National Park—home to East Africa’s highest concentration of primates. Enjoy views of tea plantations, crater lakes, and the Rwenzori Mountains. Upon arrival, check in and relax. In the evening, participate in a community experience with traditional crafts, cultural performances, and conservation activities. Accommodation: Bweza Kibale Lodge (or similar)

Day 2 : Morning Chimpanzee Tracking → Transfer to Queen Elizabeth NP → Evening Game Drive

After breakfast, head to Kanyanchu Visitor Centre for a briefing before starting your Chimpanzee Tracking adventure in Kibale Forest. Enjoy observing chimpanzees as they feed, groom, and interact. After the trek, transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park. In the evening, enjoy a game drive through the Kasenyi plains with chances to spot elephants, lions, buffaloes, and antelopes. Accommodation: Queen Bush Lodge (or similar)

Day 3 : Morning Boat Cruise → Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable NP

Begin with a morning boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel, known for hippos, elephants, buffaloes, crocodiles, and abundant birdlife. After the cruise, transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park through the scenic Kigezi Highlands filled with terraced hills and forests. Arrive in the evening and check in for rest. Accommodation: Bweza Gorilla Lodge (or similar)

Day 4 : Gorilla Trekking → Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi

Enjoy a full day of Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi's dense rainforest. After a briefing, head into the jungle to track a habituated gorilla family. Spend one hour observing their behavior as they feed, play, and interact. After the trek, transfer to the beautiful Lake Bunyonyi for relaxation or an optional evening boat tour of the islands. Accommodation: Birdnest Resort (or similar)

Day 5 : Lake Bunyonyi → Entebbe → Departure

Start your day with a peaceful breakfast overlooking Lake Bunyonyi. Afterward, begin the return journey to Entebbe. Stop at the Equator for photos, stretching, and souvenirs. Arrive in Entebbe later in the day for your departure flight or onward travel plans.
